Серый чугун.Широкий класс железных литейных сплавов (чугунов), обычно характеризуемых микроструктурой пластинчатого графита в железной матрице. Серый чугун обычно содержит от 2,5 до 4 % С, от 1 до 3 % кремния и добавки марганца, в зависимости от желательной микроструктуры (от 0,1 % Мп в ферритном сером чугуне и до 1,2 % в перлитном). Сера и фосфор также находятся в малых количествах как остаточные примеси.
